In this quarter we are thrilled to join with believers the world over in the most sacred of Christian Festivals… Easter Weekend.
To commemorate our 2014 Easter Celebration we are thrilled to announce that we will be joined by our Senior Minister, Ps. David McDonald for our Easter Sunday service. At the close of service (weather permitting) we will be publicly conducting Water Baptisms in the Cronulla Beach pool for all who would like to participate in a Resurrection Sunday baptism.
In the lead up to this special event, we would love to invite you to join with us in a 21-day fast to prepare our hearts for encounter in the Easter season. It is our prayer that through this time of fasting, we would see Jesus and the power of His Resurrection afresh. We will also be specifically praying during this fast for opportunities to invite people to church and to see many decisions for Christ over the Easter period.
In addition, this Easter season we will be launching a new teaching series entitled, Son of God to celebrate the new motion picture being released of the same name. Son of God comes from the award-winning producers of the record-breaking miniseries The Bible, Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, and is a major motion picture that brings the life of Jesus Christ to the big screen. It marks the first major motion picture about Jesus’ life since 2004‘s The Passion of the Christ, providing us with a tremendous opportunity to share with the community who the Son of God is!
To leverage the potential momentum and invitational power of this cinema release, Empower Church will be focusing our weekend and Urban Connection studies around the life and ministry of Jesus. Worship Services will feature clips from the major motion picture and will follow in theme with New York Times bestselling author Rick Warren’s new book The Life of Jesus in You. Together we will be challenged to consider what would happen if we applied the lessons from events in Jesus’ life to our own.

May 18: Jesus’ Resurrection and Our Resurrection
May 25: Jesus’ Ministry and Our Ministry
